Thomas started his career in the UK working at various law firms in London within the corporate M&A sector.
Whilst working in one of the UK’s top tier law firms he made the decision to leave law and work in recruitment to help lawyers with their career planning.
Thomas developed his experience in both the UK and Sydney helping qualified lawyers at both the junior and very senior level make strategic career moves. Working across both in-house and private practice Thomas is able to provide guidance on both options.
Thomas joined with Luke to Co-Found Eckardt Guanlao Consulting with the aim of providing candidates and clients with a service that exemplified his values of; Integrity, Informative, and innovation. The aim is to provide candidates with lasting, ongoing, career services, and clients with a recognised brand for excellence.
Outside of recruitment Thomas has a morbid passion for long course endurance events and has completed various Ironman and Distance events.
Luke was admitted as an Australian lawyer in 2005, to the Supreme Court of New South Wales and Queensland and has over of 10 years of experience practising law in Australia.
He commenced his career with Australia’s leading law firm, Minter Ellison in their corporate and litigation teams before expanding his career in-house and into more commercial roles.
In May 2016 Luke co-founded EG Consulting.
Luke is ideally placed to not only assist candidates in finding the right role but to advise on strategic steps necessary to be taken to solidify a fruitful career path .
Outside of work, Luke’s passion is his family, fitness, and health. When not recruiting he can be found working out at his local Anytime Fitness club, or otherwise at home spending quality time with his wife and kids.
Kumara started his career in the UK working at various law firms in London within the Insurance and Commercial Litigation sector.
Kumara is focused on giving detailed, impartial advice to his clients. He particularly focuses on talking with Senior Associates and Partners within Private Practice.
Kumara has developed a deep network with both lawyers and law firms and can speak fluently regarding successful progression tactics.
Outside of recruitment Kumara has a love for all sports, Rugby, Cricket and Triathlon being a few. He recently completed his first full-distance Ironman and is always looking for the next challenge.
Robbie has 5 years in Recruitment and HR in both the Ireland and Australia. He has extensive management experience which allows him to understand his clients’ challenges.
Robbie is focussed on helping legal secretaries and paralegals navigate their careers across both private practice and in-house.
Robbie has developed a close-knit network with his clients and is known for providing in-depth advice to both job seekers and to hiring managers. He will always meet with his candidates and provide detailed feedback.
Outside of recruitment, Robbie is a fitness fanatic. If he’s not in the office then he will be in the gym or out for a run. He has also recently developed a love for running and is looking to complete his first 10Km race soon.
Alex is an experienced legal recruiter having worked across the EMEA and APAC jurisdictions, placing Junior-Senior level legal professionals in private practice and In-House.
Heading up the In-House division, Alex provides consultative advice to qualified professionals who seek a long-term career In-House and he delivers on mandates across a range of industry sectors including start-ups, government agencies and ASX listed corporations.
Alex graduated with a degree in Law from Leeds University, UK in 2013) and holds sporting achievements including representing Cheshire County in Football. With over 5 years of recruitment experience, Alex boasts strong interpersonal skills and is highly competitive by nature. He is trained in executive search, headhunting, and market mapping and is able to offer valuable advice on relevant industry trends, recruitment strategy, and market intelligence, with aplomb.
Outside of recruitment, Alex is a keen surfer, skier, and football enthusiast who keeps up to date with his hometown football team, Manchester United.
